About Creative Cushions

As a keen sewer for personal and business interests (trading as PB Creations), I was intrigued to hear of the “Creative Cushions” cushion making kit and its claims that it would improve, simplify and speed up the making of cushions (making of cushions being a main-stay of my business).

My initial reservations were tempered by the reaction of friends and colleagues who, as talented and professional sewers, had experienced the use of the Creative Cushions kit and whose reactions were extremely favourable.

I therefore took advantage of the first opportunity to experience for myself the advantages of the Creative Cushions techniques and was pleasantly surprised to find myself making superior cushions, and in less time, than my normal techniques. In particular, I liked the marked-out and transparent templates that allowed accurate positioning for centring and matching fabric sections prior to cutting and the simple techniques for incorporating a concealed zip (I had previously avoided the use of zips to save time). I also appreciated the clear instructions which would greatly assist anyone who is less familiar with sewing techniques.

Creative Cushions had been developed by Elizabeth Smyth of Liss, Hampshire, who, as an enthusiastic new-comer to sewing, had noted and experienced difficulties in the making of cushions (particularly with the accurate cutting out of fabric and the incorporation of a zip). From this observation, Elizabeth spent over a year developing and producing the templates and instructions for the “Creative Cushions”, cushion making kit.

When I learnt that, for personal reasons, Elizabeth was selling her Creative Cushions business, I jumped at the chance to take over this product as I felt it perfectly complemented my other sewing interests.

Therefore, I am now the proud proprietor of Creative Cushions making, demonstrating and selling the Creative Cushions cushion making kit together with fabrics and other sewing essentials.

My aim is to further develop the Creative Cushion concepts for different sizes and shapes and to add the capability to embellish the completed cushions with a variety of decorative effects.

Cushions are highly fashionable; in fact no room in any of the TV home makeover programmes is complete unless it has been dressed with cushions used as design accents. Unfortunately, quality cushions from high street stores can be expensive. By making just one or two cushions with the Creative Cushions cushion-making kit you will recoup the cost of the kit, and I guarantee that you will want to keep on making more cushions.

Happy Sewing!
